Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip Review

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted something. So, as promised on my Twitter, I'm going to share my thoughts and opinions on Colourpop's mini-sized matte lipstick collection: Foxy. I'm going to show some pictures of the product, and share the good, the bad and the ugly about this collection.

Note: my skin is really dry right now, so excuse my peeling face.

I'm going to start by saying I absolutely love the packaging! This cute little box is so cute, and I actually kept it to store the lipsticks! The note that came with it is also super cute, and I have it hanging up in my bedroom. I will always love you too, Colourpop!

It took nine days to ship, which was a little disappointing because I was promised three to five day shipping. I ordered on Friday the 12th and didn't receive my package until Saturday the 20th.

I immediately swatched them on my arm, and I fell in love. I took the picture when the product was still wet, but it definitely dries matte. The formula is thick and creamy, and once it dries it isn't sticky at all. Colourpop is inexpensive, but their products feel high-end.

Top to bottom: Beeper, Clueless, Tulle, More Better, and Creeper.

The color I'm wearing here is Beeper. It's a super popular shade on Colourpop's website, and is almost always sold out. The site describes it as a warm mid-tone taupe. It's a little dark on my skin, because I'm the palest of pale, so it's definitely not my favorite. But I can see why it's so popular. The shade is rich and so pigmented, and I don't even need to line my lips!

This one is Clueless. This was the shade that originally drew me to the Foxy collection, and the Colourpop site describes it as a dusty mauve pink. It's a great neutral shade and I can definitely see myself wearing this in the fall. But as you can see in the photo, it's not quite as pigmented and without continuous reapplication, it fades in the middle of my lips. Like Beeper, I don't need a lip liner for this shade.

Tulle was the biggest disappointment to me. For one, it doesn't look great on me because it's very dark. Colourpop describes it as a dusty mauve burgundy. For some reason, this formula feels different than the others. It's more runny and it bleeds off my lips almost instantly. It got on my teeth and all around my mouth. Overall, I'm very disappointed in this shade.

More Better is definitely my favorite from this collection! The second I applied it I was swooning. It's a beautiful deep violet wine, and I am so ready for fall so I can rock this color every day! Once this one runs out, I'm definitely going to buy the full-size tube of More Better.

And last, but certainly not least, we have Creeper! This is a true classic blue red, according to Colourpop, and I'm thrilled with it. It's the perfect, classic red lip. At first I was nervous about this one because I'm definitely more of a neutral lip kind of girl, but Creeper has changed my mind!

Summary

Overall, I'm very satisfied with these lipsticks and I would definitely purchase from Colourpop again. Creeper and More Better are my favorites, and I want to buy 10 of each the next time Colourpop restocks them! The only downside to this assortment of colors is Tulle. Maybe I received a faulty bottle, but the formula is different than the others and it's horrible.

The shipping was slow but it was worth the wait. I'm a loyal Colourpop customer!
